Are alerts sent directly to emergency services?

No. HaloGuard alerts are sent to your Guardians, not directly to emergency services. This user-led approach ensures the right people are informed first and can decide the most appropriate next step. In urgent situations, emergency services should always be contacted directly.

Will Guardians hear the alert if their phone is on silent or Do Not Disturb?

Yes. HaloGuard uses Critical Alert permissions — the same priority as a Civil Defence earthquake or tsunami warning. When you trigger an SOS, your Guardians' phone will play a loud alarm sound even if their phone is set to silent or Do Not Disturb.

What happens if an alert is activated accidentally?

If an alert is triggered by mistake, the wearer can cancel it quickly within the app or on the Smartwatch. If the alert is not cancelled, Guardians will receive the alert and can check in to confirm everything is OK.

Does HaloGuard track location all the time?

No. HaloGuard is user-controlled. Location sharing and alerts are activated by the wearer, giving individuals and organisations visibility when it's needed while respecting personal privacy. HaloGuard does not provide continuous background tracking.

Is HaloGuard suitable for workplace safety programmes?

Yes. HaloGuard is used by organisations to support lone workers, mobile teams, and staff working in higher risk or unpredictable environments. It is designed to be simple to roll out and easy for teams to use.

Do Guardians need the HaloGuard app?

Yes. Guardians need the HaloGuard app installed to receive alerts, view live information, and communicate within the system. This ensures fast, reliable delivery of alerts and real-time updates.

Does HaloGuard require special hardware?

No. HaloGuard works on iPhone and Android smartphones. Supported smartwatches are optional and can be added where hands-free access or fall detection is important.

Will HaloGuard work while travelling?

Yes. HaloGuard works anywhere there is a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection. This makes it suitable for travel, mobile workforces, and people on the move. International roaming charges may apply depending on your mobile provider.

Can HaloGuard support lone worker policies?

Yes. HaloGuard is commonly used to support lone worker and remote worker safety procedures. Features such as SOS alerts, GPS location sharing, live audio streaming and check-ins help organisations strengthen their existing safety processes.

What connectivity does HaloGuard need to work?

HaloGuard requires a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection to send alerts and share live information. Performance depends on network availability in the user's location. We recommend organisations consider mobile coverage in their operating areas as part of their overall safety planning.
