Standing With Survivors: How HaloGuard Empowers Safety During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month – a time to reflect, stand with survivors, and take action to make safety accessible for everyone.

At HaloGuard, our mission is simple: to make personal safety accessible, reliable, and empowering for those most at risk. Every day, people across Aotearoa face the reality of family violence. When help can’t come fast enough, HaloGuard offers a lifeline – a discreet, fast way to call for help, record evidence, and stay connected to safety.

Empowering Through Technology

The HaloGuard system combines our personal safety wearable with the HaloGuard app to create a powerful network of protection.

When someone activates their HaloGuard alarm, their location and live audio are shared instantly with their chosen guardians. These recordings are stored securely and can be shared with police to support investigations or protection orders.

This system ensures victims are never alone. HaloGuard acts as a digital witness, helping ensure their voices are heard and their safety is protected.

Keeping Safety Within Reach

We believe cost should never stand in the way of safety.

HaloGuard runs on a subscription model, but we provide the HaloGuard app free of charge to people who receive a HaloGuard alarm through a recognised family violence agency.

By partnering with frontline agencies across New Zealand, we make sure those most at risk can access HaloGuard’s tools without extra financial stress. Safety should not depend on income – and we’re committed to keeping it within reach for everyone.

Working Hand in Hand with Police and Agencies

HaloGuard works closely with New Zealand Police and family violence organisations to protect victims at every stage. From emergency response to evidence sharing, our focus is always on safety, privacy, and justice.

We’re proud that HaloGuard has already helped many people feel safer and regain confidence in their daily lives.

Together, We Make an Impact

Every HaloGuard subscription helps fund access for someone who can’t afford it. This ensures that safety and justice remain rights, not privileges.

As we mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we invite everyone to take action. Awareness saves lives – but action changes them.

If your organisation supports victims of family or domestic violence, or if you’d like to learn how HaloGuard can help protect your community, we’d love to connect.
